Brachyr System:
Skill Expansion

The original intention was for each skill to have 9 tiers of 7 abilities each in the core rulebook. Adding all of those abilities was time consuming and often led to analysis paralysis on the players behalf looking at all the options(Up to 3465 abilities!). So I cut it down to 3 tiers and heavily hinted in the core book that there would be additional books for more stuff.

This has the added benefit of allowing people to generalize, but if you want to specialize you just pick up the relevant book. The idea for each book is to be a self contained microcosm of everything you'd need for that skill to be a major element in a game.
